A few tips to make your stay most comfortable:

Thermostat is in the hallway. Wifi info is posted.Towels are located in the closet. The fireplace screen should be closed during a fire and the glass doors should be kept open. We provide all the wood. and starter logs. Leave exterior lights on when you leave with a late return as it is very dark after sunset. Green trash cans are on the left as you leave Bailey Ct. Please make sure items are bagged; no separation for recycling is needed. Instructions for closing the house at the end of your stay are posted in the property.

About the Retreat:

Baileys Retreat is a 50 acre estate and has been under the management or ownership by the Bailey Family since the early 1800's. Please enjoy it all, mountains, pool, viewing areas, pavilion and terraces. Note that you are in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains and our habitat houses every species of animal, bird, reptile and plant material that you would expect from a mountain retreat. Please note Ivy West is a working farm in the Retreat and it is PRIVATE. The viewing area features incredible mountain views of the Shenandoah National Park. You can visit anytime and sunsets are truly amazing. The Baileys Retreat Pavilion is a deck wrapped around our 160 year old chimney housing two picnic tables and is stocked with wood and starter logs. The pavilion is great for a fireside chat in the early morning or at the early evening. To get to the viewing area and pavilion head out Bailey Ct. and take a left on Baileys Retreat Rd. at the fork in the road stay LEFT. You will see the pavilion chimney on the left, then a swing set and garage with parking area on your right at the top of the hill. The Adirondack chairs are on the lawn terrace below the garage. Feel free to walk up or drive up as there is parking at the pavilion and the garage area.
