Simple and Sublime

Lovingly and rustically restored, our 600sf cabin features an original stone fireplace, ladder-accessed queen sleeping loft, micro-kitchen, and a charming claw footed bath where you can sink down and soak it all in. A beamed ceiling, wood flooring, plaster walls and period details evoke the simplicity of an earlier era while an ample front porch provides plenty of shade. A backdrop of birdsong invites you to think, write, paint, strum, or gin up games to enjoy an unplugged existence.

Guest Access
We are happy to share much of our retreat with guests. Bring a picnic or a bottle of wine the Adirondack chairs on our lawn terrace and marvel at one of our stunning sunsets or starry nights. Grab guitars or simply gather with family and friends for a fireside chat at out outdoor pavilion. Situated on a country lane off of a country road, you are welcome to stretch your legs on a six mile walk. Bailey’s Retreat offers plenty to do and plenty of places to do nothing. We hope you enjoy our family’s homestead as much as we do.

I have to say that I didn't want to leave. That is the first time that I can say that I didn't want to go home. Bill and Roseanne were the perfect hosts and made you feel so welcome. I will definitely be going back. I absolutely loved it.

Last minute getaway

Spent one night at the cabin as a last-minute getaway for our anniversary. Perfect spot for us; low-key, beautiful, relaxing, quiet. Loved the cosy cabin & loft; well-stocked little kitchen was perfect for preparing dinner & breakfast; enjoyed the outdoor firepit (complete with fabulous view of the mountains, stars, and neighboring farm). Hosts were very welcoming and laid back, with excellent suggestions for cycling & running routes. We took a long bike ride on Sunday to the reservoir & even saw a black bear wandering through the woods! Great location as close to restaurants/town but genuine feeling of being in the mountains. Really lovely place; would come back again! May 2014

Off the beaten path

We had a great time. Off the beaten path and secluded and yet only twenty minutes from Charlottesville in one direction and twenty minutes from Crozet in the other. The view from the porch of the cabin is beautiful and Roseanne and Bill had everything you could need in the quaint little cabin. It is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. Our one regret is that we only had two days to enjoy the cabin. April 2014

The view is spectacular

Where shall I even begin my rave of this place? My boyfriend and I arrived on a Monday afternoon, and were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by Bill as we drove up. He gave us a tour of the cabin, which could not have been more ideal. Of course, my boyfriend had to coerce me inside, as I would've been perfectly content staying on the porch and looking out at the mountains. The view is spectacular! We used the cabin as a cozy base while touring vineyards during our 2-day stay. Roseanne even stopped over the second evening to make sure we were comfortable. Talk about attentive hosts! We will most certainly be back! In fact, I was almost hesitant to leave a review in fear that someone else might scoop this place up before we do next time! Thanks Roseanne and Bill! See you soon!
