Description

Simple and Sublime

Lovingly and rustically restored, our 600sf cabin features an original stone fireplace, ladder-accessed queen sleeping loft, micro-kitchen, and a charming claw footed bath where you can sink down and soak it all in. A beamed ceiling, wood flooring, plaster walls and period details evoke the simplicity of an earlier era while an ample front porch provides plenty of shade. A backdrop of birdsong invites you to think, write, paint, strum, or gin up games to enjoy an unplugged existence.

Guest Access
We are happy to share much of our retreat with guests. Bring a picnic or a bottle of wine the Adirondack chairs on our lawn terrace and marvel at one of our stunning sunsets or starry nights. Grab guitars or simply gather with family and friends for a fireside chat at out outdoor pavilion. Situated on a country lane off of a country road, you are welcome to stretch your legs on a six mile walk. Bailey’s Retreat offers plenty to do and plenty of places to do nothing. We hope you enjoy our family’s homestead as much as we do.

Great time!

Had a great time in this cozy tiny home cabin. Enjoyed a day at the Shenandoah National Park and a day at a couple wineries. Close enough to go into Charlottesville for dinner/groceries. Nice little stove top and kitchen utensils perfect for small meals. Great restaurants in Crozet/Charlottesville. Bill was very helpful and responsive with our needs. Firepit outside is great for enjoying the nice Summer starry nights. Great trip, highly recommend!

Cozy and Quaint Cabin in the Mountains

My fiancé and I spent a week at this charming cabin. We were supposed to get married May 9th but our plans were canceled due to COVID-19. Nevertheless, we had an absolutely wonderful time at Roseanne and Bill's cabin. The views were absolutely breathtaking and we picked up wine each night from the local wineries to enjoy by the outdoor fireplace. Bill and Roseanne were gracious hosts.

A Cabin on the Hill

The cabin was amazing! It felt cozy, and comfortable, and we had all the accommodations we needed. I'm glad we spent more on the cabin versus the cottage, as it had more authentic feel. Highly recommend this location! You can't go wrong.

When my Spring Break plans changed due to the Coronavirus, and knowing that we'd be embarking on a Distance Learning adventure when we got back to school, I decided to find something/someplace where I could rest, relax, recharge. You couldn't find a better place! First off the location, just outside of Charlottesville, makes it easy to pop into town for groceries or take out. But then retreat right back to the beautiful hillside and the quiet that surrounds you while you're there. The cabin itself is perfect. You can read by the fire, or outside by your private firepit. You can lunge and be lazy and just "be" in this perfect cabin that I can't wait to return to again, and again. Beautiful amenities provided by gracious hosts Roseanne and Bill, who are so easy to communicate with, make staying here a treat. Take advantage of the beauty and the simplicity of this property, and you will leave ready to take on the world!

Thank you, Bailey's, for a relaxing get away. The cabin was perfect! We loved the fire pit outside and the views were amazing! We will definitely come back and tell all of our friends.

Cabin

I have to say that I didn't want to leave. That is the first time that I can say that I didn't want to go home. Bill and Roseanne were the perfect hosts and made you feel so welcome. I will definitely be going back. I absolutely loved it.

Last minute getaway

Spent one night at the cabin as a last-minute getaway for our anniversary. Perfect spot for us; low-key, beautiful, relaxing, quiet. Loved the cosy cabin & loft; well-stocked little kitchen was perfect for preparing dinner & breakfast; enjoyed the outdoor firepit (complete with fabulous view of the mountains, stars, and neighboring farm). Hosts were very welcoming and laid back, with excellent suggestions for cycling & running routes. We took a long bike ride on Sunday to the reservoir & even saw a black bear wandering through the woods! Great location as close to restaurants/town but genuine feeling of being in the mountains. Really lovely place; would come back again! May 2014

Off the beaten path

We had a great time. Off the beaten path and secluded and yet only twenty minutes from Charlottesville in one direction and twenty minutes from Crozet in the other. The view from the porch of the cabin is beautiful and Roseanne and Bill had everything you could need in the quaint little cabin. It is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. Our one regret is that we only had two days to enjoy the cabin. April 2014
